About us – The Team

Sightings Design was established in 2002 by Brandon Tancott, his vision was established with the clear objective of becoming a serious contender in the local Internet Marketing Industry. Providing businesses and entrepreneur’s services that promote and generate leads via the internet. Sightings is a young company and because of this our views on internet marketing are far removed from older more conventional companies, we believe our youth and our size allows us to be agile and adapt quickly to the sudden changes and advancements of the internet and pass this knowledge and understanding on to our clients. Sightings therefore promotes a vibrant and energetic work ethic among our staff, this is seen clearly in our company culture.

Why us, why are we so special?

The unique point of difference between Sightings and other competitors within our industry is that the entire team is extremely qualified, experienced and determined to show off our skills and new ways of thinking to South Africa. This drive for perfection makes everyone at Sightings not just an employee but a team member, they take ownership of Sightings, they have made it there own, enduring the ups and downs of business with an unwavering commitment to the brand and the company.

In addition to this point, Sightings strives to be “one of three”, a philosophy adapted by the Managing Director which states: We may not get all the business that there is to get, due to a variety of external factors, however when someone in South Africa needs a quote, we must be one of the three quotes on there desk. In this way we will ensure that Sightings is at the forefront of any decision maker’s short list.

Sightings unlike other older more established companies also understands how to deliver.

In most cases our competitors manage projects using defined process management methodologies; this is fine if your business is building toasters. If you do A,B and C correctly and in that order you have an exact carbon copy of a toaster each time, but this form of process does not apply to web design and development.

Sightings understands this and accepts that the development process is unpredictable; our process is therefore chaos tolerant. We expect the unpredictable and we allow for flexible responses, we manage this with stringent controls and milestones, including daily SCRUM meetings with our team.
